Unless It is found within a Cereal Box...

Sometimes in life we wonder "Why can't things be a certain way?" or "Why does Mr/Miss so-and-so behaves that way?".

There are many things in life that frustrate me. I am sure some of them you shared too. Maybe some of you right now is thinking...

"Oh... Gary... No... So many things frustrates you... Thou shall not get frustrated... Just change the way you think... Everything in life will be easy..."

Well, you know what... That annoys me the most...

Some people live in a world not of our own... Their physical body is in this world, yet their mind and soul stay in a world that no human being have been or reach. They speak a new language, new different tongue, no tribe on earth share their tongue.

Let me give you Some examples:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
eg 1)
This week is the start of SOT. (For the benefit of those who do not know about SOT, its a part-time diploma class that starts from 830am-130pm)
I have a few friends that enrolled into this class. But I was kind of curious, this people are working adults, have an establish career, did not quit their day-job to go for lessons. So how are they able to go for lessons?
Out of curiosity, I ask one of them:
"Hey, how are you able to to go SOT and work at the same time?"
Friend 1: "It is really by God's Grace..."
I smiled... But in the back of my mind... I feel like "Killing myself"...
In another occasion, I ask another friend the same question...
Friend 2: "Oh... By God's Grace..."
I stared into thin air... Wondering if I am on earth... The very earth that I was born in... Or have I reach another planet... I am amazed by the answers I get... Talking about the "Cultural Mandate"... HA!! No wonder it was said "Eyes that do not see... Ears that do not hear..."
Sometimes I wonder what is in their mind... I wish I can dissect their brain and study them...
eg 2)
A group of friends, guys and girls, about 3 or 4 of us, including me, were discussing about something we all enjoy watching, Simpson's and South Park. We were happily discussing about some of the classic scenes and episodes we all can relate to... Laughing our hearts out... A lady friend of ours hear our conversation and decided to join in.
Lady Friend: I can't believe you guys watch this kind of shows. Do you know that the creator South Parks are VERT IMMORAL people? Please don't watch this kind of shows anymore... It is not good for you...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

eg 3)

A group of us have a little small talk about movies.

Friend 3: Did you watch the movie with the actress.. Err... can't remeber her name... (Pause..) (Pause for a very awkward 3 mins...)

Friend 3: Err.. I can't remember the name.... (Pause again)

Gary: Ok la never mind the name... Just tell us the most important thing... The actress pretty a not?

Friend 4 gave that "stare". Conversation continues until it came to "Fanastic Four"

Friend 5: Fantastic Four 2 is coming...

Gary: Fantastic should be shown on big screen... Too short a time to build on the characters... Four of them...

Friend 3: Ya... Anyway the cast are not very good...

Gary: Got Jessica Alba what? Good enough a reason for many to watch...

Friend 4 & Friend 6 gave that "stare"...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Really... I do not know if I am still on earth...
You know.... It is great that you have a Belief.. But unless It is found within a Cereal Box.. Please Don't flake up on me..
All right.. I still love you ok?
Life and Life's meaning...
Life... We do not choose when we enter, neither do we choose when we exit. Or rather we can't... Life is indeed frail... How we spend the time we own and live the life we have left does make a difference...
Ramona L. Anderson says: "People spend a lifetime searching for happiness; looking for peace. They chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, even other people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within."
Albert Schweitzer says: "Happiness is nothing more than good health and a bad memory."
Paul says: "Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to get along happily whether I have much or little."
A friend said: "What's really important is that we should never stop being amazed at little things in life, or seeking happiness in simplicity or being thankful in barrenness."
There are so many things in life to rejoice for... So many miracles happening each day... Yet most of us are sulky towards the life we live...
Benny Hinn crusade is always a good eye-opener to see the vulnerability of humanity... How real-life people struggle to stay alive... How fragile one's life can be when they near the face of Death... Humans or rather mortals... Can achieve great things in life and many possessions... Yet once hit by the rod of disease... Comes crumbling and fall...
Time is Precious... Success is Great!! Yet I will never forget my ex-CGL once told me "Without Love, success alone is nothing!"
An old saying... A cliche saying... Yet the wisdom in it lies a depth of truth... :
"Life is short... Live it to the fullest!! Remember your love ones... Love them and spend time with them... Don't take anyone for granted... You never know when is the last time you will be able to see them again..."
Good Friday?
6 April, 2007
It is Good Friday... I tried to fly... Key word here is "tried"..
Woke up in the morning, went market with parents for breakfast. Went home, rest (I was actually looking for my missing pen and a magazine), bath. Went to pick up both my grandparents with parents to eat "song" fish a.k.a. big-head carp (a kind of freshwater fish).
Had a wonderful time catching up with my grandma. She is the one who brought me up till 14. She was happy to see me. She missed me but yet I was too busy to spend time with her. My school schedule is crazy. I couldn't even spend time with my parents. Excuses? Maybe... Or maybe a bad time-management.
Anyway, everything was good. My dad sends me to church after dropping my grandparents home. I reached church. And the drama begins.
I was looking for my choir in-charge. Someone pointed me to the stage. That was the devil's plan. I would not say I am an expert, but I am quite experience backstage, or relatively. I tried to find a way up the stage. Finally I saw a stairway. I walked up, wondering how to go to the front.
I looked at the ground, I saw a black "platform" (or was it?). I thought to myself, that must be the way to the front. Usually, black platforms are used to put the monitors, which are actually your speakers. So I walked on it.
My first step. That was my last. The vision is still vividly in my mind. I fell, I was "tricked". I landed bottom-on to the concrete floor 3 meters above ground.
It was a long fall. Many thoughts rushed into my mind. Yet the first thing I uttered in my breathe "Oh dear God HELP!! Protect my spine."
I fell. I fell like a baby.
*SLAMMED*
I landed on the ground hitting my butt. The impacted went straight up my back, my spine, concentrated on my lower back. I flip. I lied face flat on the floor. I could not moved. I could not feel my back.
I was afraid. Afraid if something broke. I started praying to God. I asked God please have mercy on me. I am only 26.
Many people came over to help.
Familiar voices I heard. One started to pray for me. Everyone there laid hands on me and my back and prayed.
The presence of God came as they prayed and spoke a word of faith, commanding my vertebrates to go back in place in Jesus' name. Maybe it is a coincidence, maybe it is not. I felt my bones moving. I took my child-liked faith, believing as she prayed, that my bones are going back into position.
Soon after the ambulance came. All of a sudden, my back hurts less. By then, my left wraist and left elbow starts to hurt. I think I broke something.
I kept yelling in pain as the paramedics tried to put me on the stretcher. I have fractured my right arm and dislocated my shoulder before. But none was as painful as this one. Good grief! I fell from 3 meters above ground.
I went to Changi General Hospital. I had my X-ray done. Thank God, my spine is ok. Just some abrasion on my bottoms and my back, the doctor said. But my elbow? He can't tell from the X-ray. So I was scheduled to see the bone specialist in 2 weeks time. Now I am in cast. Please pray for me...
Bad things do happened to good people. When I was on the stretcher, in the ambulance, I asked God, why these bone breaking business always happen to me. Yet I told myself that I know that all things will work out for the best for all those who loved Him.
True enough. Hands of protection were on me. As I was falling, I heard voices telling me it is just going to be like a baby falling off the chair, asking me not to worry.
That day marks the day when I truly "saw" the vulnerability of humanity.
I thank God for God Himself. Truly the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, my Savior and my Lord, who will infinetly look after me forever and ever more...
