Balance Your Work and Family Life
Juggling act
8 Ways to Balance Your Work and Family Life
By John D. Mayfield
Whether you’re new to real estate or you’ve been in the profession for a length of time, it doesn’t take long to find out how time can get away from you. But balancing all the demands of family and business effectively is essential if you want a long and profitable career in real estate.
Time is a valuable commodity, especially when your days are filled with property showings, listing appointments and presentations, prospecting for new business, following up on pending contracts, and contacting existing clients. Not to mention the need to pay bills, attend weekly sales meetings, field phone calls, plus much more. With this deluge of activity, sometimes our most important asset—family—gets placed on the back burner.
So how do you juggle family and work responsibilities in your fast-paced life? Here are eight ways to bring balance into your life:
1. Put your family first. Regardless of what else comes our way on a daily basis, you need to make time for your family, the No. 1 priority.
2. It’s your schedule—not your clients’. One of the great values of being in the real estate business is the ability to be flexible with your own hours. Don’t be afraid to tell a client or a customer that you have a commitment on this day or at that time. If it’s a school choir concert or a Little League ballgame, that is a commitment on your schedule and you should try and arrange another time to work with the customer. Believe me, this is my 27th year in the real estate business and most of my clients and customers will always work with my schedule.
3. Plan your day in advance. Planning your day allows you to create a road map for the day’s work and helps you avoid wasting many productive minutes throughout the day. Make sure your planning includes time with your spouse and family. It’s also important that you take your planning to another level: planning your week in advance. Spending 15 to 20 minutes to plan out your week will make a big difference in setting time aside for your family and other important commitments without sacrificing the work that needs to get done.
4. Exercise each day. Feeling good about your health will produce a new outlook on your life and provide you with more energy. Not only will the exercise provide more vigor, it will keep you in good health to enjoy your family for a long time.
5. Take vitamins and eat right. Incorporating the right foods and taking a multivitamin on a daily basis will improve your health and give you more energy. It’s proven that a poor diet can lead to many health problems and a lack of energy. As real estate professionals, we can be guilty of eating from our cars and frequently using the local drive-thru for meals. You think that the time saved by grabbing the quick meal is helping you get ahead, but in the long term, it is robbing you of the proper nutrients and taking away important energy.
6. Turn off your mobile phone from time to time. Don’t be afraid to turn off your mobile phone when spending time or eating a meal with your family. Society has become so “wired” with portable devices and communication aids that you often use your equipment without noticing how disruptive it can be to a family outing. Check your voicemail at your first opportunity and return calls later, and change your voice message to indicate you will be unavailable until a certain time.
7. Team up with another practitioner in the office. Teaming up will ensure that all your calls and emergencies are covered while you’re out of the office. Be a team player in return when your team member needs some extra time away from the office to treasure his or her family. You’ll both benefit from this act of kindness.
8. Give yourself a daily reminder. Remind yourself on a daily basis how valuable the time is that you spend with your spouse and family. In an article from Career Journal, published by The Wall Street Journal Online, writer Kevin Voigt offers this story: "Ostensibly, successful people, if they do have an Achilles heel, it's work-life balance," says Michael Jenkins, Singapore-based Asian managing director of the Center for Creative Leadership, an executive training and research company. "You can't regain your children's childhood; no amount of professional success can compensate for the loss of that family time. At the end of the day, if you aren't a success at home as well, (success at work) probably won't count for much."
If you haven’t been very effective in balancing your life and work, don’t beat yourself up. It’s never too late to make a change. What’s important is that you learn your weaknesses and make a decision to move forward in a positive new approach to balancing your work and family.

Managing Stress
fr http://www.aarp.org/health/staying_healthy/stress/a2003-03-11-takingtime.html
Relax Your Stress Away
Meetings, schedules, deadlines, commitments. Stress! When does anyone have time to relax?
We all unwind in different ways. Some read a book, others go for a walk. When we can't get rid of the causes of our stress, changing how we react to them can lessen the stress we feel. There are also relaxation techniques that slow our heart rate and breathing. They clear our mind, and help us calm down.
See if one or more of these suggestions works for you. Once you find one, practice it regularly when you feel your stress rising.
Massage
Massage is kneading muscles and soft body tissues to relieve stress, tension, and pain. A good massage therapist loosens and relaxes tight or sore muscles. Your whole body feels relaxed, yet refreshed and invigorated. Massage therapists are available at health clubs, wellness centers, or spas. If money is tight, some massage schools let students work on clients at a discount. Before going, check the school's reputation. Ask about the kind of training the massage therapists have and what kinds of massage they specialize in. Friends, family members, or coworkers are good sources of referrals.
Meditation
Meditating lets you enter a state of peace and quiet reflection, calming your body and mind. There are many ways to meditate. You can do it while praying, doing yoga or tai chi, listening to music, or sitting cross-legged on the floor with incense and candles. Meditating removes you mentally from where you are while your mind and body rest. Research shows that people have immense success with meditation to relieve stress, according to Roger Jahnke, doctor of acupuncture and oriental medicine, and author of "The Healer Within." Jahnke says you can meditate two ways: by focusing your mind or by emptying your mind; the latter is harder and takes longer.
Deep Breathing
Practice deep breathing anywhere — while you're meditating, doing yoga, waiting to give a speech, or in your car stuck in traffic. Most forms of meditation include some type of breath practice, according to Jahnke. Breathing deeply and slowly helps you calm down and feel more relaxed. There are several ways to practice deep breathing, but the idea is to do it slowly and mindfully.
Visualization
Also known as guided imagery, you're the director of your dream. Think of a peaceful, beautiful setting. Imagine yourself there. Once you've pictured yourself in your safe and beautiful place — maybe the beach, your patio or the top of a mountain on a warm, sunny day — you stay with your vision for several minutes, until you feel your mind and body relax. You can practice visualization at home or in your office, with or without an audio or video tape to guide you.
"Stress is caused by worrying," says David Bresler, a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles. "Worrying takes place in our imagination because we're worrying about things that haven't happened yet, or we're worrying about things from the past." According to Bresler, guided imagery reduces stress by giving people greater control over their imaginations.
Biofeedback
Biofeedback measures how you change your body's functions, like breathing, through activities such as guided imagery. Hand-held machines provide audio and video information that measure changes in heart rate, muscle tension, and relaxation.
Thought-Stopping
This technique involves stopping stressful thoughts before they have a negative effect on you. You isolate the stressful thought and silently say "stop" to release the thought from your mind. If the thought doesn't go away, repeat the process.
Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a trancelike state of deep relaxation while your mind stays restfully alert and open to suggestion. It includes deep breathing, meditation, and visualization. Psychologists and psychiatrists sometimes practice hypnosis, as do professional hypnotists. The fear people might have about hypnosis comes from its being used on the stage, according to Jahnke. Just know that "you'll never act like a chicken unless you want to." In other words, you won't do anything under hypnosis that you don't want to do. Furthermore, a health professional won't do anything resembling a stage show, says Jahnke. "They apply it [hypnosis] as a health management and stress reduction tool." Get a good referral to a professional who practices hypnosis.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation
Muscles tense up when stressed. Learning to release stress and tension from muscles is simple. Exercises include the tensing and relaxing of different sets of muscles in a particular order, such as starting with those in the head and working your way down to your feet. Some fitness instructors guide you through this process at the end of workouts.
Yoga
Yoga, an ancient Hindu mind-body practice, can reduce stress and help you become calm and centered. It also builds strength and flexibility. Yoga is growing in popularity, especially with baby boomers. Most yoga practices in the U.S. focus on the physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation. Look for yoga classes at community centers, health clubs, or yoga centers. Before you sign up, find out what kind of yoga class you'd be taking, for instance, raja yoga, ashtanga yoga, power yoga.
Tai Chi
With its precise, gentle, flowing movements, this ancient Chinese mind-body practice is perfect for relieving stress. Described by those who practice it as "meditation in motion," the focus of this martial art is on slow movement, breathing, and concentration aimed at moving your life energy, or Ch'i, throughout your body.
Tai chi is a form of qigong (Chi Kung), which is the yoga of China, according to Jahnke. Meditation that combines movement, like qigong and yoga, is the best form of relaxation and better than exercise alone, says Jahnke. "Combining meditation with movement triggers and enhances a multitude of self-healing mechanisms."
Other techniques:
- Count to Ten
If a situation gets really bad, count to ten slowly to give yourself time to think about the best way to react. - Talk To Yourself
As you slowly breathe in, say to yourself, "I am." As you breathe out, say slowly to yourself "calm." Repeat this until your mind is calm and you can focus on your breathing. - Write It Out
Writing can be good therapy. If you're overloaded with worries, take a pencil and paper and spend 20 minutes writing down your concerns and possible solutions to the problems. - Take A Break
Get a change of scenery by doing something simple. A walk outdoors can give you a new outlook on a situation. - Take A Bath
Add some soothing music and scented bath oil and let your stress just melt away! - Get Back To Nature
Nature can be a great stress-reducer. Drive to the ocean and take a walk on the beach or just watch the waves rolling ashore. Stroll through a flower garden or nature trail. Listen to a tape of ocean sounds or birds.
Relaxing for 15 minutes or more a day, using these techniques or others that you might discover on your own, can go a long way in relieving stress.

What is a Vow?
I was sitting in front of my computer, thinking what should I read on today? And I decided to google "inner vow".
What is a Vow?
A vow is something said verbally or in the mind by an act of our agency that programs the body and mind from that point on. It is a directive sent through the heart and mind to the body. Though the conscious mind has long forgotten, the inner being does not. It is a determination set by the mind and heart from that time on. They are lodged in the heart.
An Inner Vow is when you make a vow within yourself or even verbally thet you are no going to be a certain way or do a certain thing.
Inner vows act as a protection mechanism to keep our spirits from being wounded and hurt. It is in the form of a wall around the heart. Most of those that have feelings of rejection have inner vows. They develop "hearts of stone". Inner vows may not become manifest immediately in behavior, but eventually may lead to breakdowns or explosions. They act as orders to mind and body. While they keep us from being hurt, they at the same time keep us from being loved by God and others. We develop a “cold love” where we show the outward expressions of love, but do not experience it in our heart or emotions.
Examples are:
When you find yourself very reluctant to do something ask yourself if you ever made a promise to yourself that stands in the way of what you are trying to do. Then write on a piece of paper "I hereby release myself from my sacred vow that I would never get married.." or whatever the vow was. You made the vow and you can release yourself from it. Say it three times then burn the piece of paper in a little ceremony. You will find a sense of inner release and normality inside yourself.
I guess I am very guilty of such vows. For example, I said "I will never be a christian in my entire life" and "I will never pierce my ear, piercing are for sissys." and "Choir? No way, I will never join choir"

Reality or Perception
When things are NOT defined in black and white, how do you perceive them? How do you interpret the information you receive?
Do you see two faces, a vase, or both?

How about when things ARE defined in black and white, how then do you perceive them? Is there any differences in your perception?
I had a dream last night. I dreamt that "Reality" was a dream in that dream. That I have found back what I have lost that was of great importance. In my excitement, I yelled out "I had a horrible dream. I dreamt that I have lost you. Promise me I will never lose you again!"
Just as I was enjoying my moment, my alarm woke me up. And back into Reality I came back.
What is Reality? Reality means "the state of things as they actually exist". The term reality, in its widest sense, includes everything that is, whether or not it is observable or comprehensible. Reality include both being and nothingness, whereas existence is often restricted to being (compare with nature).
In other words, "reality", as a philosophical category, includes the formal concept of "nothingness" and articulations and combinations of it with other concepts (those possessing extension in physical objects or processes for example). (fr wikipedia)

Does Reality lines up parallel to your perception or do they slant and slope?

Or did you see more than you should see?

Are things moving in the right directions?

Cherish the Moment

He said "The first girl you will meet is someone who loved you the most. She will teach you how to loved.
The second girl you will meet is someone who you loved the most. She will teach you how to cherish.
Then the third girl you will meet is someone who neither love you the most, nor you love the most.
But because of the first two you have met. You will marry her and live happily ever after."
I laughed at him, saying "Why can't I have someone who I love the most who also love me back the most?"
He smiled and walked away.
Today, I have already met she whom taught me how to love and she who taught me to cherish. Will I meet she who will walk till eternity with me?

That's how winning is done

"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! "

Inner Healing 101: Healing emotional wounds
by greatbiblestudy.com
This is one of the most vital and important areas of deliverance ministry that we cannot overlook. While it is important to cast out demons, it is just as important, if not more important, to minister to the emotional wounds. Emotional wounds are one of the most common reasons that deliverances can fail or demons seem to keep coming back and regaining inhabitation within the person. I need to make it clear that if you are going to be in the deliverance ministry, it is an absolute necessity that you learn about emotional wounds and how to bring the person to the point where they can receive inner healing from the Holy Spirit.
Our goal is not to forget a hurtful event or trauma, but to receive healing for that event, where the Holy Spirit removes the stinger from it. When we look back upon a healed wound, we can see it in a different way, because it has been healed and is no longer painful to look back upon.

Darkest moment of life

Sometimes it is already hard to make ends meet at the darkest moment of your life. When you began to realise that you need help. You start to look to your left and right, you realise, gosh! Those who used to be there ain't there anymore. You needed help but there isn't any. You needed reinforcement, but they are not going to come. You realised you need to rely on yourself but you are already at your limits.
But that is all ok... No help? Rely on yourself then. You can't go asking for help and expecting help to come all the time...
But then you realised, the people you have trusted, the person you have called a friend or family began to judge you. Say things like, you get yourself into shit because you are lazy, you can't be bothered. You are useless, you are a slacker.
This world indeed is broken. So broken there is no love. Where there is no love, there is no God. And in a Godless town, people turn to their talents and ablities and their success as god. They pride their success. They king them as king. Worship them as god.
